Did you know there are approximately:
- 5 teaspoons of sugar in a can of cola
- 8 teaspoons in a can of lemonade
- 6 teaspoons in a bottle of flavoured water
- 5 teaspoons in a can of energy drink
- 10 teaspoons in a 600ml bottle of juice
- 2 teaspoons in a regular latte
- 16 teaspoons in a standard thickshake
- 7 teaspoons in a juice-bar smoothie
Milk beverages such as lattes & chocolate milk have the least teaspoons and the lowest glycaemic index (GI) types of sugar, which are better for our health. Milk also has a range of essential nutrients such as calcium, protein, and vitamin B12. Try lactose free, soy, or almond milk alternatives if you are dairy intolerant.
